Light Designs - Branding Package Order The design process of our very own brand was very enjoyable. Starting this design, we wanted to keep a few key factors in mind: Collaboration, open thought, & an overall stylish modern feeling with professional undertones. For these reasons, we started with a basic color pallet of #f8c428 (orange), #a22abd (purple), & shades of gray. Orange was chosen due to the effects it evokes - that being excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth. Orange is often used to draw attention, which we would like very much for this brand! Purple was chosen largely for the same reason, however this color often times evokes feelings of creativity, royalty, wealth & professionalism. With the color pallet created, we moved on to the shapes which would be used. A lightbulb came to mind when imagining creative, open thought which is a key part to this brand. The tricky part became deciding how we could implement a sense of collaboration into a lightbulb type shape. By choosing a question mark, we relate to the unknown factor prior to a designs initial conception. Both customers, and designers often times feel somewhat "in the dark" when approaching a new branding design, which can be a taxing feeling! To help correlate this brand's ability to help the customer with this process, we ended up using 2 opposite color question marks which somewhat resemble a "ying & yang" type relationship between consumer and designer. The information provided by the customer is required for the designer to create. However, the designer is required for the customer to see their brand come to fruition. By working together, in a collaborative manor, the company Light Designs aims to provide 100% customized, personalized, unique, and enjoyable branding for any individuals, groups, companies and more! The correlation of these question marks is further represented by their direct connection to the middle of the lightbulb icon, implying it will only provide light when both factors work together. Next, we needed to identify a font style which compliments this icon, and color pallet. Again, we were looking at the offset between 2 parties coming together in order to produce a wonderful asset. For this reason, we landed on the Moon TypeFace which provides both light, and bold weights. When placed next to one another, unlike most other weighted fonts, they compliment each other very nicely! The final conception of this brand includes 2 alternate versions of this design with different layouts. We make it a common practice to provide multiple versions of brand designs, as it's not always clear where they will be applied during print, online placement and/or in other locations. The best alternative version of the Light Designs logo can be seen below, as it features the dot in the "i" of "Light" as the lightbulb icon! A sideway oriented logo is very suitable for small spaces such as websites, and even advertisements aiming to best use their space in a design. When all said & done, we were very pleased with the way this branding came out! A simplified version of assets has been provided for this article, though please keep in mind many, many others have been created for use. Below, we can see all the assets used in the article, which are also widely used by the Light Designs team during their marketing! We hope you've enjoyed the read and design process of our very own branding, and we can't wait to hear from you soon! Please feel free to checkout some of our other designs, as we do make it a priority to explain the process of our designs with each project we engage in, so long as the customer is willing to provide and share the information!
