In today’s world of artisan bakeries, first impressions matter. When the team at Whisk and Wheat approached us for a new logo and business card set, we felt they were seeking more than just aesthetics - they wanted a visual identity that conveyed warmth, comfort, and craft. Drawing inspiration from our previous rebranding success with Resolute, we set out to create a brand identity as wholesome and inviting as fresh-baked bread itself! Whisk and Wheat specializes in handcrafted breads, pastries, and desserts. From rustic sourdough loaves to elegant croissants, each product embodies the bakery’s commitment to high-quality ingredients and a timeless baking tradition. The brand needed a fresh, modern look that captured their artisanal spirit and inviting atmosphere. While Whisk and Wheat had a modest presence in their local market, their goal was to stand out and connect with food lovers all over seeking authentic, handmade baked goods. Our challenge was to weave a cohesive identity, centered around a new logo and business card design, that shared their delicious story at a glance. The LogoSimilar to our Resolute rebranding project, we began by identifying the values that Whisk and Wheat holds dear. Authenticity, comfort, and craftsmanship topped the list. We wanted these ideals to shine through every design element - down to the choice of typeface and color palette. Brand Values: Artisan Quality, Customer Connection, Warmth Design Goal: Modern simplicity that conveys friendly tradition Our design research took cues from modern farmhouse aesthetics and the cozy ambiance of neighborhood bakeries. Neutral tones, warm browns, and subtle organic textures guided us as our palette began to be rooted in soft cream, mellow gold, and deep brown. We enjoyed how it these color combinations gave the comforting warmth of fresh dough and perfectly toasted crusts. For the logo, we merged two fundamental components - a stylized whisk and a golden wheat stalk. The circular form surrounding these elements symbolizes unity and wholeness, reflecting Whisk and Wheat’s emphasis on wholesome ingredients. Clean lines and balanced proportions echo the brand’s commitment to consistency and quality in its baking process.
The Business CardsAfter finalizing the logo, we wanted to be sure we represented the new Whisk and Wheat Identity. Clean lines, simple icons and an overall uncluttered layout focus attention on the new icon and brand name, ensuring immediate recognition! Front: Features the Whisk & Wheat icon as a focal point, set against a warm-bread colored background. Subtle whisk and wheat texture references in the background nod to the bakery’s artisanal roots & experience. Back: Maintains the cohesive color scheme with details in an iconic san-serif font. Adorned with an alternative version of the Whisk & Wheat Logo and the website. From concept to completion, the new logo and business card design give Whisk and Wheat an instantly recognizable identity that captures their cozy atmosphere and artisanal flair. It’s a true visual testament to their dedication to quality and love for the baking process. Like our work with Resolute, we see endless opportunities for extending Whisk and Wheat’s brand identity—packaging, signage, website design, and more. This strong visual foundation ensures that as Whisk and Wheat continues to grow, their brand story will remain consistent, warm, and engaging across all customer touchpoints. At Light Designs, we specialize in crafting purposeful, memorable brand experiences for businesses of all sizes. Our collaborative approach ensures each design reflects our client’s unique values and vision. Whisk and Wheat’s logo and business card suite exemplify our passion for combining artistry with strategy, ultimately delivering results that rise to every occasion - just like a perfectly proofed loaf of bread. ResoluteMC - Branding Package Order Rebranding this 10+ year old community was an absolute delight. The higher staff and management team worked closely with our designers to not only create, but reimagine their brand identity. They came to us with a general idea of what they wanted, but nothing too detailed. Upon speaking about their history, the community was originally started nearing the dawn of Minecraft multiplayer itself by a retired military man. After passing through many owner's hands and undergoing many revisions, it finally arrived in the hands of the current owner, Mike3132. Starting this design, we wanted to keep a few key factors in mind: Life & Death, High Contrast, & an overall flashy feeling with professional undertones. For these reasons, we started with a basic color pallet of #F71105 (red), #690AF2(purple), & shades of black, gray and white. With the color pallet created, we moved on to the shapes which would be used. A phoenix came to mind when imagining life & death along with rebirth which are both key parts to this brand. The tricky part became deciding how we could implement a sense of unity into a phoenix type shape. By choosing a confident, upward pose, we relate to the strength and resolve needed to continue as a community for so long. The hand-drawn letter "R" in the center resembles the hands-on approach the staff team has taken for so long in order to keep this community running. Next, we needed to identify a font style which compliments this icon, and color pallet. Again, we were focusing on the process of death & rebirth. For this reason, we landed on the Alien Ravager font which provides an impactful, sleek feeling to the overall powerful phoenix icon. By accenting this wonderful font with red lines, we bring the overall font together, allowing it to stand on it's own. This is important for a proper modern day brand, as the branding elements must fit in many places both on the web, and in-person! The final conception of this brand includes many alternate versions of this design with different layouts. We make it a common practice to provide multiple versions of brand designs, as it's not always clear where they will be applied during print, online placement and/or in other locations. The original and best alternative versions of the ResoluteMC logo can be seen below. Thank you for reading the ResoluteMC design rebranding process article by Light Designs!
MythicCraft - Branding Package When approaching the MythicCraft rebrand, our team faced a unique set of challenges and opportunities. The key aspect to consider was the evolution of their previous logo. Incorporating a mythical dragon motif was crucial yet challenging, especially when aiming to modernize this theme in today's fast-evolving design landscape. This article delves into the creative process, decisions, and innovative strategies that defined the MythicCraft rebrand. MythicCraft’s Previous Identity The original MythicCraft logo was iconic, featuring a stylized dragon that resonated with the brand's fantasy gaming audience. However, as the digital and gaming landscapes have evolved, so too has the need for a more contemporary and versatile brand image. Our goal was to honor the legacy while also enhancing the logo for better digital performance and broader marketing appeal. Research and Inspiration Our journey began with extensive research into current design trends, competitor analysis, and feedback from MythicCraft’s community. We sought inspiration from modern art movements and digital design trends, aiming to blend these elements with the mythical and adventurous spirit of the brand. Sketching and Conceptualization Sketching was an integral part of the process, allowing us to explore various dragon representations—from fierce and formidable to mystical and majestic. Each sketch progressively refined the dragon motif, balancing mythical essence with a clean, modern aesthetic. Choosing the Right Design Elements Selecting the right color palette was crucial. We opted for a deep, rich purple to signify royalty and mystery, complemented by blue accents that add a touch of sophistication and modernity. The typography was chosen for readability and impact, with a bold sans-serif that stands strong across digital and physical mediums. Finalizing the Logo The final logo design features a sleek, angular dragon in which the torso seems to wrap around, creating a letter 'M,' symbolizing protection and strength. This design not only modernizes the brand but also maintains its connection to mythical themes. Digital Integration
Adapting the logo across various platforms was a significant consideration. We ensured the logo's scalability for everything from mobile apps and game interfaces to large-scale event banners and merchandise. Along with this, many alternative versions were made to fit specific platforms & use cases. Consistent Brand Experience To maintain a cohesive brand experience, we developed a branding guideline that includes logo usage, color palette, typography, and imagery. This ensures that all marketing materials, from website to packaging, reflect the MythicCraft identity consistently and effectively. The MythicCraft rebrand was a journey of balancing tradition with innovation. By reimagining the dragon, we not only preserved the brand’s core essence but also enhanced its appeal to a broader, modern audience. The new branding stands as a testament to MythicCraft's evolution, ready to make its mark in the contemporary digital and gaming arenas. Looking Forward As MythicCraft continues to grow and evolve, the rebrand will serve as a cornerstone of its marketing strategy. The new design has already started to make an impact, resonating with both long-time fans and newcomers alike. We look forward to seeing how this fresh identity helps propel MythicCraft into new realms of success. Starting this design, we wanted to keep a few key factors in mind: Collaboration, open thought, & an overall stylish modern feeling with professional undertones. For these reasons, we started with a basic color pallet of #f8c428 (orange), #a22abd (purple), & shades of gray. Orange was chosen due to the effects it evokes - that being excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth. Orange is often used to draw attention, which we would like very much for this brand! Purple was chosen largely for the same reason, however this color often times evokes feelings of creativity, royalty, wealth & professionalism. With the color pallet created, we moved on to the shapes which would be used. A lightbulb came to mind when imagining creative, open thought which is a key part to this brand. The tricky part became deciding how we could implement a sense of collaboration into a lightbulb type shape. By choosing a question mark, we relate to the unknown factor prior to a designs initial conception. Both customers, and designers often times feel somewhat "in the dark" when approaching a new branding design, which can be a taxing feeling! To help correlate this brand's ability to help the customer with this process, we ended up using 2 opposite color question marks which somewhat resemble a "ying & yang" type relationship between consumer and designer. The information provided by the customer is required for the designer to create. However, the designer is required for the customer to see their brand come to fruition. By working together, in a collaborative manor, the company Light Designs aims to provide 100% customized, personalized, unique, and enjoyable branding for any individuals, groups, companies and more! The correlation of these question marks is further represented by their direct connection to the middle of the lightbulb icon, implying it will only provide light when both factors work together. Next, we needed to identify a font style which compliments this icon, and color pallet. Again, we were looking at the offset between 2 parties coming together in order to produce a wonderful asset. For this reason, we landed on the Moon TypeFace which provides both light, and bold weights. When placed next to one another, unlike most other weighted fonts, they compliment each other very nicely! The final conception of this brand includes 2 alternate versions of this design with different layouts. We make it a common practice to provide multiple versions of brand designs, as it's not always clear where they will be applied during print, online placement and/or in other locations. The best alternative version of the Light Designs logo can be seen below, as it features the dot in the "i" of "Light" as the lightbulb icon! A sideway oriented logo is very suitable for small spaces such as websites, and even advertisements aiming to best use their space in a design. When all said & done, we were very pleased with the way this branding came out! A simplified version of assets has been provided for this article, though please keep in mind many, many others have been created for use. Below, we can see all the assets used in the article, which are also widely used by the Light Designs team during their marketing! We hope you've enjoyed the read and design process of our very own branding, and we can't wait to hear from you soon! Please feel free to checkout some of our other designs, as we do make it a priority to explain the process of our designs with each project we engage in, so long as the customer is willing to provide and share the information!
